The Myth of the R learning curve: how to not go crazy when learning R

LUKA NEGOITA, PHD

I received my Ph.D. in Biology from Syracuse University in 2018 where I analyzed loads of ecological data using R while studying the ecology of plants on islands. I love teaching and have mentored countless students and scientists in everything from experimental design to using R for creating figures for their publication. I believe that the fundamental beauty of the world comes from the mechanisms behind the patterns that we see, and R gives us the tools to see this beauty. My vision is to see a world where science- and data-literacy are a fundamental part of our education.
